Broadway, a central avenue that hugs the energetic state of New York, is an essential fabric for the city’s metropolitan boroughs and sprawling suburbs. Broadway extends beyond the city, another 13 miles through Manhattan, and 2 miles via the Bronx, piercing an additional 18 miles into the heart of Westchester County.
This crucial branch of New York runs through towns such as Yonkers, Hastings-On-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, and Tarrytown and reaches its final stop just north of the old village of Sleepy Hollow.
And Broadway’s name doesn’t stop at the mainstay: it gives its name to off-Broadway and off-off-Broadway theater. These new projects also hammer home Broadway’s centrality to shaping and guiding American theatre culture.
